Michelle Fairley

Michelle Fairley ( born 1964 in Coleraine ) is a British actress.

Life and career

Michelle Fairley was born in Coleraine, the daughter of Brian and Theresa Fairley and grew up in Ballycastle, County Antrim, on.

Fairley played in numerous British television series such as The Bill, Holby City and Heartbeat. One of her first roles she had as a murderess Cathy Michaels in the British crime drama Inspector Morse. In 2008 she received for her portrayal of Emilia in the play Othello an Olivier Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 2010 she played in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 in the opening scene the mother of Hermione Granger. From 2011 to 2013, she starred in the American television series Game of Thrones in the role of Catelyn Stark.

Fairley lived for several years in London.
