Michelle Magorian

Michelle Magorian Jane ( born November 6, 1947 in Southsea, Portsmouth) is a British author and actress.

She grew up in Singapore, then lived for some time in Australia and later in Paris, where she was a student Marcel Marceau and took singing, ballet and acting lessons. In 1982 she received for her 1981 published book Goodnight Mr Tom, this in German language under the title The boy from London was published, the Guardian Award. The novel is about a boy who is evacuated during the air raids of World War II from London and is received by a lonely old man. It was filmed in 1998 with John Thaw, will be as a stage piece to see in 2008 and has since been translated into 13 languages. Another work that also deals with the Second World War, Back Home is. Michelle Magorian was inspired to these books through the stories told by her mother about her time as a nurse.

Michelle Magorian lives with her two sons in New Hampshire.
