Michelle Steele

Michelle Steele ( born March 8, 1986 in Gladstone ) is an Australian Skeleton pilot. Michelle Steele had their first jobs since 2004, with races of the America 's Cup. Since 2004, she also is a member of the Australian national team. In the World Cup, she debuted in early 2006 at a race in St. Moritz, where she was tenth. After that, she was at the Junior World Championships in Igls Fifth. Shortly after Steele competed in the 2006 Olympics in Turin, finishing in 13th place. In the season 2006/ 07 they reached multiple good rankings in the World Cup. So it was in January 2007, initially second in the race in Nagano and then third in Igls. At the 2007 World Championships Steele was sixth. A summary score she finished in tenth place. In the 2007 /08 season she could no longer reach a podium. It was in the overall standings again Tenth. At the World Championships she came in 15th in the 2008/ 09 and 2009/10 season they started in the world, America's and Intercontinental. In the last two competitions she was able to win one race apiece. In the season 2010/11 Steele competed in four World Cup races, but could not place in the top 10 there.

Steele coached by Terry Holland and lives in Bundaberg. For Skeleton she came than in Australia in a large search operation athletes were sought for this sport. They beat out about 100 other candidates and was sent for further training after Koenigssee. Prior to her skeleton career, she ran a typical Australian Sport, a blend of surfing and lifesaving.
