Career

Miguel Pérez Cuesta grew up in Oviedo and played at the local football club Real since 2003, first in the youth division. Later he was also adopted in the squad for the first team, but moved to Celta Vigo in 2007. Here he was now being used only in the B- team played, however, towards the end of the season in the first squad and was in the next few years an integral part of the team. In the season 2010/11 he took with Celta Vigo in the play-offs for promotion to the Primera División in part, but failed in a penalty shootout at the Granada CF. However, he personally managed the climb, as he moved free transfer to Rayo Vallecano. He immediately became a regular player and with 16 goals in 37 league games - at Vigo more than before in four years - one of the surprises of the season. In mid-July 2012, he then moved for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros for Welsh Premier League side Swansea City.
