Mick Jones (hammer thrower)

Michael Jones (Michael David " Mick " Jones, born July 23, 1963 in London) is a former British hammer thrower.

He had his greatest success starting for England at the Commonwealth Games: 1986 in Edinburgh and 1994 in Victoria, he was fourth in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, he won silver and gold in 2002 in Manchester and 2006 in Melbourne, he was fifth.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and at the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton, he left in qualifying. At the Athletics World Cup 1998 when he was in Johannesburg Fifth and Madrid in 2002 aft.

Six times he was English Champion (1998-2002, 2004).

His personal best jump of 76.43 meters he set up in Birmingham on June 9, 2001.
