Mick Talbot

Mick Talbot ( born September 11, 1958 in London ) is a British musician and keyboardist, who was known in particular for his collaboration with the singer and guitarist Paul Weller.

The mid-1970s he founded in London with his brother Danny the Mod revival band The Merton Parkas, who had pioneered a second major mod - wave in England in collaboration with The Jam. After this group split in 1980, he initially joined Dexys Midnight Runners and the New Wave and Soul group The Bureau.

In 1983 he formed together with Paul Weller The Style Council, which could have a number of Top 10 hits in the UK and some success in Germany until the early 1990s. In 1990, the existing record contract was dissolved by the labels, and Talbot played some solo recordings by Paul Weller on.

With drummer Steve White, who also came from Style Council, he published a number of projects under the name " Talbot / White", before in 2003 with bassist Damon Minchella (formerly Ocean Colour Scene ) the Jazz-/Funk-Band The Players founded.

His love for jazz and funk had already demonstrated in 1991 when he became the British / American Acid Jazz band Young Disciples played keyboards on the album " Road to Freedom " as well as in occasional collaboration with Galliano Talbot. 2009 Talbot toured in England with Candi Staton.

Since 2011 he is a permanent member of the band Dexys, which emerged from the former Dexys Midnight Runners.
