Microgramma (typeface)

Microgramma is a font that was designed in 1952 by Alessandro Butti and the graphic designers Aldo Novarese for the foundry Nebbiolo. The font is a sans serif font with the constructed character and is one of the most popular fonts.

History and Use

The font had at the time of its publication in a unique design. The principles of Swiss typography were all observed. Originally the font was designed only for headings and logos. The later designed by Aldo Novarese similar font styles euro was expanded to include numerous characters, and is therefore suitable as a text font. The Microgramma was, inter alia, used by Halliburton or Air Zaire.
