Middelharnis

(? Listen / i ) middelharnis ( Zeeland Menheerse ) was a town in the Dutch province of South Holland, on the island of Goeree -Overflakkee, with 18049 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) and an area of ​​86.79 km ² (of which 25, 62 km ² water). Middelharnis is also the name of the capital of this former rural community; more places are Battenoord, Nieuwe Tonge, Sommelsdijk and city aan 't Haring Vliet. Since 1 January 2013 is part of the municipality of Goeree -Overflakkee.

The town of Middelharnis was in 1966 by the merger of the municipalities Middelharnis, Nieuwe Tonge, Sommelsdijk and city aan 't Haringvliet emerged.
