Mies Bouwman

Mies Bouwman ( born December 31, 1929 in Amsterdam ) was considered in the 1960s as the grande dame of the Dutch television entertainment.

Career

Bouwman was the daughter of the manager of the broadcasting company KRO. After a successful moderation test was moderator of the first television evening of KRO on 16 October 1951.

In the show Open het dorp ( German: , Open the village '), she hosted, together with Arie Klapwijk, more than 23 hours without a break a television show in order to raise funds for the construction of the village, a quarter for disabled children in Arnhem,. Mies Bouwman was with director Leen Timp (1921-2013) married, with whom she has a son. She lives with her husband in Elst, Rhenen. On 28 May 2009 Mies Bouwman underwent successful heart surgery.
