The Miðfjörður is a tributary of the fjord Húnaflói in northern Iceland.

The Miðfjörður is about 3.5 km wide and extends 14 km into the country. To the west the headland Heggstaðanes from Hrútafjörður separates from him. At its eastern shore of the place Hvammstangi located on the Vatnsnes Peninsula. In the fjord the Miðfjarðará leads after 40 km. This springs from the north Arnarvatnsheiði.

The most famous court in Miðfjörður is Bjarg, the birthplace of the saga hero Grettir. Churches are located on the farms Melstaður, Staðarbakki and Efri- Núpur.
