Migron, Mateh Binyamin

Migron ( Ivrit: מגרון ) is a former, according to Israeli law considers illegal Israeli settlement ( מאחז, Ma'ahaz, English Outpost. ) With 300 residents in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, approximately 15 kilometers north of Jerusalem, about six kilometers north of Ramallah, Palestinian autonomous areas. She was evicted on September 2, 2012 by Israel Defense Forces.

The settlement, which belonged to the county Mateh Binyamin, was born from 2001 on private land of Palestinians from the village of Burqa near Ramallah. Migron is mentioned in the Bible ( 1 Sam 14.2 EU). The settlers new homes were built in another settlement in the West Bank. The government has invested the equivalent of six million euros.

More than 200 Israeli settlements and outposts in the West Bank should be vacated earlier, according to roadmap of 2003, but the settlers refuse to leave most.
