Miguel Maria Giambelli

Miguel Maria Giambelli CRSP ( born March 23, 1920 in Flero, Brescia, Lombardy, Italy Province; † 26 December, 2010 Bragança, Pará, Brazil) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Bragança do Pará.

Life

Miguel Maria Giambelli joined the Congregation of the Barnabites and received on 4 July 1943, the ordination. He went into the Mission to Brazil and was one of the first ministers in the then Prelature Guamá by Pope Pius XII. the Order of Barnabites transferred to the management and construction. Giambelli built the entire infrastructure of the region. In addition to the ecclesiastical administration, there were schools and hospitals as well as radio stations.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 21 April 1980, on the Bishop of Guamá after he was already 1977-1980 Administrator of the diocese. The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil Carmine Rocco gave him on 15 June of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Alberto Ramos Gaudêncio, Archbishop of Belém do Pará, and Antônio Pedro Misiara, Bishop of Bragança Paulista. During his tenure, the change of name of the diocese Guamá fell into the present Diocese of Bragança do Pará.

After his retirement on April 10, 1996, by Pope John Paul II because of his age-related withdrawal petition, he was hospital chaplain at the hospital Santo Antonio Maria Zaccaria in Bragança do Pará.
