Miguel White

Miguel S. White ( October 9, 1909 *, † August 30, 1942 ) was a Filipino athlete Philippine- American origin. He won the bronze medal in the 400 - meter hurdles at the 1936 Olympic Games.

Career

White appeared in Berlin in 1936 on both hurdle distances ( 110 m and 400 m). On 3 August he won the third forward on the 400 - meter track in 53.4 seconds, beating the Canadian John Loaring, but also as a preprocessing aufrückte Second semi-finals. In the semifinals on August 4, White was again 53.4 seconds and thus took second place behind the Americans Glenn Hardin. Two and a half hours after the semifinals the final was set, White ran 52.8 seconds, Hardin won before Loaring.

On August 5, White came to lead the 110-meter hurdles at, after a fall but he did not reach the target. Miguel White was the only Filipino medalist in Berlin.

Miguel White had already won the 1934 400 - meter hurdles at the Far East Championships. He was 1.80 m tall, his competition weight was 68 kg.
