Mika Kaurismäki

Mika Kaurismäki ( born September 21, 1955 in Orimattila, Finland) is a Finnish film director and brother of Aki Kaurismäki.

Life

Mika Kaurismäki studied from 1977 to 1981 at the University of Television and Film in Munich. He founded together with his brother Aki Kaurismäki the Midnight Sun Film Festival and the rental company Villealfa (named after Alphaville, a film by Jean -Luc Godard ).

Mika Kaurismäki has lived since the early 1990s in Brazil and turned his last films to Brazilian themes.
