Mike Deodato

Mike Deodato (* May 23, 1963 in Campina Grande, Brazil), actually Deodato Taumaturgo Borges Filho ( alternative pseudonym: Mike Deodato Jr.) is a Brazilian comic book artist.

Life and work

Deodato was born in 1963 as Deodato Taumaturgo Borges Filho in Campina Grande in Brazil. His stage name he adopted when he began in the 1980s for Brazilian magazines to work as a cartoonist. In 1993 Deodato foothold in the American comic book market foot when he was hired by the publisher Publishing Innovation as a draftsman of some fairy tale stories of the series Beauty and the Beast.

In 1994 he took on the task of the draftsman for the traditional superhero series Wonder Woman which was written at the time by William Messner - Loebs. Deodato's drawings, especially the feminine charms of the protagonist - a militant Amazone who lives in the United States of the 20th century - brought to bear, it contributed decisively to the previously ailing series commercially again to lead to success.

After his run on Wonder Woman Deodato worked with Warren Ellis on the screen that appears in Marvel Comics series The mighy Thor before he drew the series Glory for Image Comics and Maximum Press. This was followed by work on the Marvel series Amazing Spiderman, Avengers, Elektra, The Incredible Hulk, Thunderbolts, Tigra, Witches, X-Men and X -Men Unlimited, at the DC series Batman and Flash to which in chaos! appearing series Lady Death and Purgatori, and the Dark Horse series Star Wars Tales, Lady Death vs. Vampirella and Xena.

Deodato currently lives in João Pessoa in Brazil.
