Mike Kinsella

Mike Kinsella ( born March 4, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American emo and indie rock musician and was involved in numerous well-known band projects. Currently, he works primarily as a solo artist. His brother Tim Kinsella and cousin Nate Kinsella are also musicians.

Career

For the first time became known as a member of Mike Kinsella of Cap'n Jazz, an emocore band of the first hour. From Cap'n Jazz in 1995 he joined Joan of Arc, an experimental indie band, which had been founded by his brother Tim Kinsella. While he played in Joan of Arc, was formed with Steve Lamos, brothers David Johnson and Allen Johnson's group, The One Up Downstairs, in the soon Mike Kinsella boarding as a singer.

After the dissolution of this formation Mike Kinsella, Steve Lamos and Steve Holmes founded in 1997, the band American Football. In Polyvinyl Records 1998 EP and 1999 LP have been published. After his departure in 2000 Mike Kinsella attempted a revival of the original formation of Cap'n Jazz under the new band name Owls. The group consisted of Mike, his brother Tim Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, and Sam Zurick. 2001 album was released.

2001 Mike Kinsella also launched his latest solo project, Owen, in which he all that is heard, also plays himself. Mike later also participated again in some projects of Joan of Arc and Love of Everything, a band of Bobby Burg. 2004 was to see Mike Kinsella with Rainer Maria and hear.
