Mike Margulis

Michael " Mike" Joseph Margulis ( born August 30, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri ) is a former American football player at the position of a striker. Although he was never active at the professional level and otherwise very little is known about him, he graduated from the football tournament of the 1972 Summer Olympics games for his country.

Career

The career path of the born in St. Louis in 1950, Margulis is largely unclear. While some sources, such as the RSSSF speak of belonging to the Saint Louis University, the player does not appear, however, in the team directory of the team which belongs to the sports department of Saint Louis Billikens on. After or during his time at St. Louis University Margulis was engaged at amateur club Busch Soccer Club, although nothing is known about the duration of his club affiliation, nor on any missions. Shortly before his 22nd birthday, which he celebrated in Germany, Margulis traveled with a U.S. Olympic team at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. There he got a day after his 22nd birthday coach of the U.S. Olympic team football Bob Gülker a special birthday gift, when he was employed as a substitute for the third and final game of the United States against the Federal Republic of Germany. At the meeting, which was held in front of 65,000 spectators at the Olympic Stadium in Munich and clearly won 7-0 by the home side, Margulis came in the 62nd minute for the roughly the same striker Mike Flater into play. This should continue to be his last significant use, then the trace of the young American football player runs. It is likely that Margulis has also come in the qualifiers for the Olympic summer games for use before his Olympic use.
