Mike Piazza

Michael Joseph Piazza ( born September 4, 1968 in Norristown, Pennsylvania) is an American former baseball player in Major League Baseball, among others, as a Catcher played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets. He holds the record for most home runs by a catcher beaten ( 427 ).

On 5 May 2004 Piazza hit against the San Francisco Giants his 352nd home run (first inning against pitcher Jerome Williams). He thus replaces Carlton Fisk from the catcher as with most beaten homers.

  • Mike Piazza had a cameo appearance in the episode " Baseball explosive! " the animated series What's New Scooby Doo.
  • In 2002 he had another cameo in the film Two Weeks Notice.
  • He had a guest appearance in 1994 Married with Children in the episode The baseball strike, in which he and other baseball stars such as Joe Morgan played herself.
