Mikhail Gerasimov (poet)

Mikhail Gerasimov Prokofjewitsch (Russian: Михаил Прокофьевич Герасимов; born October 12, 1889 in Petrovka in Buguruslan, † 1939) was a Russian writer.

In 1905, he joined the Socialist Party. After the October Revolution of 1917, he became a leading member of the cult of the proletariat movement and co-founder of the writers group Kusniza (Eng. " wrought "). In 1921, he stepped out in protest of the New Economic Policy of the Party. 1932, after the victory of Stalinism in the Soviet Union, which was dissolved by Party Kusniza decision. Gerasimov was arrested in 1937 and died two years later in prison.
