Mikhail Rudy ( born April 3, 1953 in Tashkent, USSR ) is a French pianist.

Life

Rudy received five years of piano lessons, which he continued at the age of ten years at the Moscow Conservatory, where twenty-two led to the conclusion. In 1971 he was awarded the Bach Prize and in 1975 with the Long - Thibaud - price. In 1977, Rudy decided to host tour in France to not return to his home country. Instead, he finally settled in Paris.

The following years were marked by concerts, among others, along with the violinist Isaac Stern, cellist Mstislav Rostropovich and conductor Herbert von Karajan and Lorin Maazel. In 2001, Rudy became acquainted with the performance of all four piano concertos Sergei Rachmaninoff on two consecutive recitals in Berlin. Since then, he has entered into a musical partnership with jazz pianist Misha Alperin, with whom he was also active in the field of improvisation. In 2007, he initiated a reading of Władysław Szpilman's autobiography by actor Peter Guinness, during which he played pieces by Frédéric Chopin, the Szpilman himself had played in the Warsaw Ghetto, in order not to lose his self-discipline necessary for survival.
