Milena Vukotic

Milena Vukotic ( born April 23, 1938 in Rome) is an Italian actress.

Life and work

She is the child of a Montenegrin theater writer and an Italian pianist. Milena Vukotic studied dance and drama in London, Vienna and Paris and worked in the ballet by Roland Petit. She gave in 1954 in the strip La cage aux souris and after 1960 in the bitter life, her film debut. Even during her work in the film she acted more as an actress on stage, mainly in Rome at the Teatro Argentina and at the Teatro Quirino. But also in Palermo, Siracusa and in Verona, as well as at the Teatro Franco Parenti often in Milan, she appeared on stage. From 1991 to 2004, she also appeared as a reciter of works by several authors to pieces by Schubert, Liszt and Handel. In Germany Vukotic was both known in 1983 by John Knittel's television adaptation Via Mala, directed by Tom Toelle and 1987 by series Anna as a dance teacher Irina Kralowa. In 1994 she won the Nastro d' Argento Italian film award of Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani. She starred in Luc Bondy's production and film directed by Arthur Schnitzler The Vast and Paul Manker Alma in Venice.
