Military Wives

The Military Wives are in 2011 of the television presenter Gareth Malone as part of his show, The Choir: Military Wives, was established in British women's choir. It consisted of 2011 women and girlfriends of members of the British Army from the barracks of the Royal Navy base in Chivenor and the barracks in the Royal Citadel of Plymouth, in Afghanistan from serving in the war. Description

The first public appearance of the choir had on 12 November 2011 as part of The Royal British Legion 's Remembrance Parade at the Royal Albert Hall in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II. The first single was released on December 19, 2011 Wherever You Are, a cover version of a recording by Paul Mealor. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Royal British Legion and the SSAFA Forces Help. At Diamond Jubilee Concert on the occasion of the 60th jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II Sing the song by Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth 2012 was recorded tape in which the Military Wives participated.

On 27 July 2012, the choir sang at the official opening ceremony of the Olympic Summer Games in London, the national anthem of the United Kingdom God Save the Queen. Until July 2012, approximately 50 other choirs under the name of Military Wives were formed at other locations.
