Milton (West Dunbartonshire)

Milton ( Milton of Colquhoun also outdated ) is a village in West Dunbartonshire in Scotland.

Milton is located approximately one kilometer east of Dumbarton on the A82, which connects Glasgow and Fort William with Inverness.

Originally there were two elementary schools on the long road to Overtoun House on the main road to Glasgow, which are closed today, in the village. It is not known when the second school was operated or closed ( on the road to Ouvertun ), although this probably happened in the 19th or early 20th century, as the architecture of the house fits into this time. Milton also has a SSPCA animal shelter. It also includes Dumbuck Quarry, who had removed a large part of Dumbuck Hill.

Milton is known mainly because of the former residential house of the racing driver Jackie Stewart. His family had managed auto repair shop in the village. Another local is the ace Ian Napier.
