Mimí Derba

María Herminia Pérez de León named Mimí Derba, (* 1893 in Mexico City; † July 10, 1953 in Mexico City) was a Mexican film actress, film director, film producer and screenwriter.

Life

She was an important figure of the early Mexican film. Together with Enrique Rosas, she founded the film production company Azteca Films, which produced five films. 1917 played in En defensa propia Mimí Derba with, the first shot in the Mexican capital -length film. In the rotated in the same year the film La tigresa she was the director, so she was the first woman in Mexico who has directed a film. Many sources, however, assume that the technical aspects of Enrique Rosas were taken. After Mimí Derba was not active as an actress in the 1920s, she returned in 1932 in Santa back to the canvas. Until her death, she starred in other films. On 10 July 1965, she died at the age of 60 years.
