Mind Assault

Mind Assault is a South African Melodic Death Metal band from Somerset West, Western Cape, which was founded in late 2004.

History

The band was founded in October 2004. The founding members were: Jacques Fourie (vocals, ex - Deaf Division ); Francois Pretorius ( electric guitar, ex - Deaf Division ), Patrick Davidson ( electric guitar ) and Donovan Tose (ex - Fudge ). Since the band's drummer lacked the necessary, helped a friend of the band, Stepahn Lenhoff, from, to this early 2007 with Andries Smit (ex - Decay of Angels ) found a suitable replacement.

The band recorded the EP Social Engineering in 2005, and published these in the same year and played on some major concerts and festivals.

In early 2006, the band played the first festival, on which not only bands of their genre was represented, and finished their first national tour called Destructour '06 that kept them together with the South African band Sacrifist. This could increase their awareness of the band. During the year, the band continued to play concerts and then took on material for their first DVD.

In 2007, then was the DVD, F * k Voort En Suip Baie published, the first of its kind in South Africa. They closed the year with various appearances at festivals on how the Metal4Africa, Empyrian hard and Whiplash.

In February 2008, published her debut album, Mind Assault stigma on the Metal4Africa Summerfest. In the same year they were also represented as a headliner on the Ramfest that counts in their province the largest of its kind. Also followed by a tour outside South Africa through Namibia. The band played in 2008 along with Carcass ( UK). Later in the year they came back again as a headliner on the Metal4Africa and Whiplash. The band went on tour together with Sacrifist, bearing the name Destructour '08 .. but you had to be canceled due to poor financial conditions.

In the following years the band worked on new material and continued to play concerts. The EP Metal Rites was published in 2011.

Style

The band's music contains and melodic and aggressive elements. It is used guttural vocals, with English with Afrikaans is mixed. She is the first band that constantly uses this language in the Extreme Metal.

The lyrics of the band focus on social injustice and frustration, but also to people from the metal scene who want to put yourself in a good light.
