Minquiers and Ecréhous

Minquiers and Écréhous are reefs, which are among the Channel Islands. They are located about 20 km south and 9 km north-east of the island of Jersey in the vicinity of the French coast. On some islands there are small houses that are inhabited in the summer.

In the 18th and 19th centuries rocks were broken on the reefs, which among other things, the Fort Regent was built in Jersey.

1953 was the final conflict between France and Great Britain to the state membership. The International Court of Justice in The Hague confirmed the membership of the British Channel Islands.
