The National Airport Minsk ( Belarusian Нацыянальны аэрапорт Мінск; formerly Airport Minsk -2) is the international airport in the Belarusian capital Minsk.

The airport was built in 1977 as a complement to the smaller city airport Minsk -1 and opened in 1982, the regular flight operations began in 1983. It serves as home base for the national airline Belavia Belarusian.

Location and Transport

The National Minsk airport located 42 kilometers east of Minsk and is connected to the bus 300 to the inner city. From the Minsk ring road from it is beyond reach via the M2 motorway.

Airlines and destinations

The airport is connected by several airlines with numerous mainly European destinations. Largest airline site is, which is home Belavia, which offers, for example, connections to Amsterdam, London, Moscow and Tehran. From the German-speaking Minsk is currently served by Lufthansa from Frankfurt am Main, Belavia from Frankfurt, Berlin, Hannover and Austrian Airlines from Vienna.
