Minsk Region

The Woblasz Minsk ( Belarusian Мінская вобласць; Russian Минская область / Minsk Oblast ) is an administrative district in central Belarus. Capital of Woblasz is Minsk ( weißr. Мiнск; Russian Минск ), which you however not itself a member, but as the capital of Belarus has a special status. In the north of the lake lies Woblasz Naratsch, the largest lake in the country and the main destination for domestic tourism.

The Minsk Woblasz located in the center of Belarus and is the only no international border. It occupies 19.4 % of the country, and 15.3 % of the total population of the country live here. To Woblasz include 22 counties, 307 village Soviets, 22 cities, including 8 cities in the area subordination and 20 urban settlements. The Woblasz covers approximately 40,800 km ² and has 1.503 million inhabitants ( 2004).
