Minuscule 63

Minuscule 63 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), A 118 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 237 parchment leaves ( 31.8 x 24 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 10th century. The manuscript is complete.

Description

The Code contains the text of the four Gospels. It was written with one column per row 18-24. It contains Prolegomena, lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonianische sections (Mt 355, Mk 234, Lk 342; Jo 241) Eusebische canon, signatures and pictures.

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category V.

The manuscript is missing John 21:25. The pericope John 7:53-8:11 is missing.

History

The manuscript once belonged to James Ussher (such as Code 61).

The Code is currently in Trinity College ( Ms. 30, fol. 1-237 ) in Dublin.
