Mirapolis

Mirapolis was a theme park in the borough of Courdimanche the plan town Cergy -Pontoise in the French department of Val- d'Oise near the A 15 It was opened on 20 May 1987 and closed on 20 October 1991. With a total of 47 ha (30 ha and 17 ha park parking lot) he was the first major theme park in France. It was designed for 28,000 visitors per day. The park offered at the opening 29 attractions ( including shows). In closing, there were 60 attractions. Added to 13 Souvinierläden, 8 restaurants and 12 food vendors came ( Mirabars ). History

The park was designed by the great French novels and stories. The main attraction was the 35 meter high statue Gargantua with restaurant and ride inside. She was the tallest free- standing statue in Europe and the second largest in the world after the Statue of Liberty. Other attractions beside Le Géant Gargantua were La Descente of rapid ( = Fast Exit ), La Ville d' Ys ( = The city of Ys ), Le Château des sortilèges ( = magic castle ), Les Impressionnistes ( = Impressionists ) and Le Palais des merveilles ( = Palace of Wonders ).

Gargantua
