The Mircea is a 1938, launched in Bark, which is used intermittently until today as a sail training ship of the Romanian Navy.

History

The 1938-1939 built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg ship was taken as a sail training ship of the Romanian Navy in service and is by Mircea cel Bătrân, one of the most important voivode of Wallachia, called. After the Second World War, it was briefly seized by the Soviet Union. 1966 Mircea was overhauled at the shipyard Blohm Voss in Hamburg and is still in active service.

In 1976, the Mircea part in the festivities on the occasion of 200 years of independence of the United States. In 2004, she crossed the North Atlantic again, this time as part of the Tall Ships Regatta ' Challenge 2004, where she finished fifth in the overall standings. In 2005, the ship sailed through the Mediterranean and the North Atlantic to the North Sea.
