Mirko Uhlig

Mirko Uhlig (* 1981 in Aachen ) is a German musician of experimental electronic music. He also published under the names of eel with horse head.

Music

The first albums, which still strongly under the influence of Musique concrète techniques and the surreal sound collages of the groups Nurse With Wound and deer Non emerged supervisor sofa, published from 2004 to 2006 under the pseudonym eel with horse head at various international small label ( eg Field Muzick, single unit, Taalem and Mystery Sea ). With the vinyl EP "Fragment 36" ( on Drone Records ) finished Uhlig initially the project to publish the music has now become far more minimalist under a less associative name. The first album under his own name ( VIVMMI ) appeared on with Tobias Fischer ( tokafi, Feu Follet ) Ex Ovo label founded in the spring of 2006. Recent publications mix the collage-like noise music with the more minimalist drone experiments.

As musical inspirers apply inter alia La Monte Young, early Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Nurse With Wound, as well as William Basinski, Christoph Heeman, Andrew Chalk and Hafler Trio.
