Miroslav Kalousek

Miroslav Kalousek ( born December 17, 1960 in Tábor ) is a Czech politician.

Life

Kalousek initially worked many years for the Christian Democratic Party KDU- CSL. After studying at the University of Chemical Technology in Prague, he worked in public administration and was from 1993-1998 Vice- Minister of Defense. In 1998 he was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, which he belongs to this day. In 2003, he sat down against Cyril Svoboda by the party presidency of the KDU- CSL. From this position he had to resign in 2006 but pressure from within the ranks again because he had publicly contemplated the formation of a minority government of the CSSD and his party tolerated by the communist KSČM by the House of Representatives elections, 2006. Before the elections, as " anti-communist " -understand KDU- CSL had ruled out any cooperation with the Communists.

In formed in January 2007 the center-right government Topolánek II ODS to the KDU - CSL and the Green Party (SZ ) Kalousek took over the post of finance minister. After this government had lost the majority in Parliament in March 2009 and was toppled by a vote of no confidence, Kalousek had to give the minister again.

Kalousek left in June 2009 after the re- election Cyril Svoboda at the top of the KDU- CSL, the party and, together with Karl zu Schwarzenberg, the center-right party TOP 09 For this he was in the recent center-right government of Prime Minister Petr Necas from July 2010 to July 2013 re- finance.

After the early federal election in the Czech Republic in 2013 Kalousek was proposed by his party as one of four vice-presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, but not reached in the chamber with the necessary support. Kalousek then took over by Petr Gazdík the parliamentary leader of the TOP 09 and Gazdík was elected instead to the Vice President of the Chamber.
