Miroslav Kluc

Miroslav Kluc ( born December 1, 1922 in Nesuchyně, Czechoslovakia, † December 4, 2012 in the Czech Republic ) was a Czechoslovak ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Miroslav Kluc began his career as a hockey player in his native village in Nesuchyně Okres Rakovník. In 1948 he moved to ZJS Sokol Hutě Chomutov, who was at that time the second division. Miroslav Kluc quickly evolved into a true leadership player who ( along with his team ) scored over 100 goals a season regularly. Due to its physical size, strong hands and arms as well as good distance he was a gifted attacker.

During the season 1949/50, he scored a total of 226 goals. In 1951 he managed to Chomutov promotion to the 1st League, the highest Czechoslovak league. In this he was in the following years, a total of four times top scorer (1952, 1953, 156 and 1957). From 1954, he led his team also as player-coach on the ice. 1958 Kluc left his hometown club, because you did not want to allow him to simultaneously act as a player and coach. When he left Chomutov, he had scored in 473 games for his hometown club a total of 1194 goals. Miroslav Kluc is now regarded as probably the most important players in the club's history today Piráti Chomutov.

Kluc changed in 1958, at the age of 36 years, for CHZ Litvinov, for which he was still active as a player-coach with whom he achieved promotion to the 1st League at the end of the season 1958/59. Kluc played three more years for Litvinov, before he ended his active career at the age of 40 years. For Litvinov, he scored 105 in first league games a total of 73 goals and 17 assists. In total, he scored in the first league 222 goals in 220 games.

After his career end Kluc 1963 head coach at VTZ Chomutov, before he left Czechoslovakia and the Lausanne HC served as head coach 1964-1967. In the seasons 1968/69 and 1969/70 he was coach of the CHZ Litvinov.

Between 1970 and 1975 he was head coach at parallel Olimpija Ljubljana and the Yugoslav national team. With Olimpija he won three Yugoslav championship title.

On December 15, 2011 Kluc was recorded in the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame ( Czech Sin slávy Českého hokeje ).

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Kašťák participated at senior level at the Olympic Winter Games in 1956 and the World Cup 1953. In a total of 14 international matches he scored 8 goals.
