Miroslav Koubek

Miroslav Koubek ( born September 1, 1951 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach. The majority of his coaching career was spent at SK Kladno.

Playing career

Miroslav Koubek began playing football at Union Zizkov, he spent the last years of youth at Admira Prague. His military service completed by the keeper from 1971 to 1973 at VTJ Slany. Thereafter Koubek played five years for Poldi Kladno from 1978 to 1981, he belonged to the squad of Sparta Prague, where he was mostly a substitute for Miroslav Stárek.

Coaching career

His coaching career began in the former goalkeeper for Poldi Kladno, where he worked until 1988. In the 1988/89 season he was an assistant coach at Sparta Prague and won the league and cup double in there. In the next two years Koubek was coach at VTZ Chomutov. In 1992 he went to Germany and coached the first FC Amberg, whom he led to the League Bavaria 1994. In summer 1995, the club was insolvent, Koubek returned to the Czech Republic and took over again as coach in Kladno. After only half a year, he left the club and was an assistant at Union Cheb. Also in Cheb experienced Koubek insolvency of the Association. Again he took the SK Kladno.

In October 2000, he first got the chance in the first league to train. He should keep the second-bottom Viktoria Plzen before the descent, which he was not able. The team took only 14 points in 19 games. After a year break, he took over for the fourth time in his career, the SK Kladno and rose with him in 2006 in the Gambrinus Liga on. There managed to avoid relegation. Prior to the 2007/ 08 season Koubek moved to the management of the club, in the spring of 2008, he was assistant to Jozef Jarabinský at Chinese club Tianjin Teda. In the 2008 /09 season, he led FC Zenit Čáslav on the second place in the second league. For the 2009/10 season Koubek assumes the coach at FC Banik Ostrava function.
