Mitsubishi Estate

Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.. ( abbreviated as MEC, Japanese三菱 地 所 株式会社, Mitsubishi Jisho Kabushiki - gaisha ) is a Japanese company the real estate industry. As one of the core companies of Mitsubishi Group is one of the 50 largest companies in Japan. The stock is included in the equity indices TOPIX Core 30 of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Nikkei 225.

History

In 1890 began the Mitsubishi Zaibatsu with land purchase and development in Tokyo's Marunouchi. In 1937, the real estate business was spun off and transferred to the Mitsubishi Estate. In 1953, the company merged as a result of the destruction of the Zaibatsu with the real estate company Yowa Fudosan and Kaito Fudosan and was listed independently on the exchange. In 1989, Mitsubishi Estate as a major shareholder in the New York Rockefeller Group, Inc. ( RGI ), which they completely took over later.
