Mixed Emotions (band)

Mixed Emotions was a pop duo consisting of Dorco German and Oliver Simon. German was not only a singer but also a music producer and songwriter of the duo.

Band History

1986 wrote Dorco German You Want Love, he offered his record company EMI, which was looking for a performer for this song. During the recordings with Oliver Simon German but came up with the idea to record the piece with this duet.

The single was finally brought under the name " Mixed Emotions " in September 1986 on the market. Boarded at number 42 of the singles chart, it reached 4th place in no time you did not just 40 weeks in the charts, but also 14 weeks in the Top 10 in March 1987, the second single Bring Back the 19 weeks in the published Charts and spent with a 13th place narrowly missed the Top 10. The song was also placed highly in the ZDF hit parade as the predecessor of Media Control.

In May 1987, then appeared the German -produced single-handedly first album called Deep from the Heart, which was advancing to No. 2 on the album charts, a total of 36 weeks remained in the German album charts and was certified platinum. Published in June 1987 Single Sweetheart - Darlin ' - My Deer reached # 21 Mixed Emotions thus had the same three singles on the charts. The eponymous second album, produced by German in collaboration with Chris Evans - Ironside and Mat Dietrich, reached # 7 on the album charts and was awarded a gold record.

In January 1989, then appeared with I Never Give Up the time being final single of the duo. In the spring of 1989, the paths of Dorco German and Oliver Simon parted.

During the 1989 tour of Germany by German the idea to continue the project with Andreas Martin was born. As the first ( pre -) Single the 1999 re-recording of You Want Love, to which there was also a produced specially for VIVA and MTV music video including " rap version " appeared.

Just a week later, the comeback album We Belong Together, the place went to 27. Many television appearances followed.

In November 1999, the second single under the comebacks, Bring back '99 appeared. They included both re- re-recordings of the title track and a newly composed bonus track Remember and was also the last joint admissions Dorco German and Oliver Simon, whose paths then parted again.

The after separation by Oliver Simon outstanding live performances of " Mixed Emotions " took Dorco German true with singer Stefan Körber, before the project was finally completed in early 2000. Both Dorco German and Oliver Simon devoted themselves in the aftermath again their solo careers.
