Mladá Vožice

Mladá Vožice ( German Jung Woschitz ) is a city in Okres Tábor, Czech Republic. It is located 17 km north-east of Tábor on the Blanice.

History

Probably the settlement below the castle already existed for the reign of Prince Spytihněv II, who built the castle, where he encamped silver that came from the nearby mines. 1273, a certain Ztanimirum de Bazychce first mentioned, the connection is not entirely clear to Woschitz, but it is believed that he was the first owner. Most likely, however Worschitz was royal property that was awarded as fief to different masters. Such a feudal lord was William of Woschitz, which was mentioned in writing in 1318. Mention was also the Emperor Charles IV, not only as an owner but as a visitor on 8 September.1352.

At this time Woschitz should also have two churches. The town went through several hands of noble families, including the lords of Pacov belonged, of which Vozice also the coat of arms was given, two towers on a castle wall, entwined with two arms of the government. Similar appearance also had the seal of the city, on which the tower stands on a rocky ground, but without pennants and castle crown teeth.

From 1318 to 1425 the lands owned by the lords of the country stone, of Janowitz, Orlik, Prague and Ronow.

After the battle of Sudoměř occupied about 2,000 soldiers under the leadership of the mint master of Kutna Hora by Mikis Divůčka z Jemniště the place. From 5th to April 6, 1420 Žižka raided his Hussite the place and burned him down. From the Imperialists were able to save, which managed to escape the castle only ones. The castle itself has been since September 1425 called by Jan Hvězda z Vícemilic also Bzdinka, besieged for five weeks, conquered and razed. The leader of the Hussites found in this conquest of his death, but lived to see the conquest and the subsequent peace negotiations ( Treaty of Woschitz ) on 18 Oktober.1425 between the encampments and the orphans. Woschitz was connected after the negotiations at Wlaschim.

Then kept the Lords of Klingenstein, of the Czech Stitz, of Kralowitz, Trček of Lipa, and Voračičtí z Paběnic. 1579 was the place of Michal Špaňovský z Lisova permission of the free city election, the right wine Ausschanks, the iron trade and other privileges. His son Joachim Woschnitz sold to Bernard Five Kirchner, who lost his yards after the Battle of White Mountain. Přehořovský z Kvasejovic a chapel on the site of the former castle created, introduced in 1650 three markets and renewed the Crafts Code. 1678 was the rule in the hands of the lords of Kiinburg who joined Woschitz some other farms in the area and the lands as entail not divisible and only to the eldest son inherited certain.

Long before 1848, there was talk in the affluent families in the area mostly German. Czech language only the poor rural and urban population. Czech literature was scarce because of the lack of education of the population. It was not until the time of the national revival after 1848, even 1860 Czech teachers and officials came to Worschitz. They fought for the expansion of the school, the establishment of a district administration as well as a tax office and a pension institution. Local youths, who were studying in other cities, bringing new ideas to the city. 1862, the glee club Vlastislav was built under the direction of the teacher CENEK Sedmik. At this time there was also a reading circle, which, however, broke up later.

1875 came the association of firefighters, a year later, "Club of academics from Woschitz and environment", who made himself the task of spreading spiritual formation. They built a town library, literary meetings and performed plays. 1884 was first published in the magazine " Vožičan ," the young people published manuscript " Potěr ". 1885 was the founding date of the Sokol Gymnastics Club and the Association for the construction of the club house.

A large share of the economic development of the town also had the economic managers Josef Joachimsthal, who eventually but in vain lobbied against opposition of his masters for the construction and connection of the village on the railway. Instead of a bus station railway was built in 1921.

Beginning of the 20th century, founded one of the local business association " Berla " and a local association for the beautification of the city, who cares about the preservation of the park and walking trails.

In Mladá Vožice resided a district court, office of the district administration, forest management, tax office, pension institution, police, post office, infirmary, poorhouse, orphanage and District Youth Care. In the city of fairs were organized to continue monthly markets, cattle markets and every Thursday piglet market.

The inhabitants were mostly employed in the royal court, which included a saw, brick plant, brewery, aquaculture, distilleries and quarry. After 1918, two car repair shops were opened, founded a knitting mill, laundry and ironing, put a Damnpfelektrizitätswerk in operation, the buying up elektrárny later Jihočeské. By 1945, in the village of 74 craftsmen who worked, 37 dealers offering their goods, in addition, there was a small furniture factory and two construction companies. Many people were also employed as a turner at home and gathered wild fruits. At the beginning of the 20th century, many also worked in the gold mines and as a seasonal worker in the entire Empire.

The predominantly agricultural area experienced after 1945 an economic upheaval and increasing industrialization. By 1947, in the city, the District Court was established. Since 1949 it belonged to the district of Prague and after the reorganization in 1960 the district of Tábor. 1975-1980 of the city were annexed other small communities.
