Mladějov

The community Mladějov is located near the nature reserve Český Ráj in Okres Jičín, Czech Republic. The place is also known as the gateway to the Bohemian Paradise.

From the hamlet of Pařízek there is a view of the castle Trosky, the mountains Kozákov, Ještěd and Střelečská Hůra and the Giant Mountains. There are forests, meadows and rock formations in the area. The place belongs to the micro-region Český Ráj. In the village live around 550 inhabitants in an area of 1204 hectares.

History

The first record dates from 1372, when there was here Kunrat of Mladějova.

The Good Mladějov belonged to the castle of Count Conrad Dohna until it came into the possession of Wallenstein. He sold on March 30, 1627 Johann Albrecht Slawata of Chlum and Košumberk. On June 3, 1628 friedländische Hofmeister Paul Cornazani got (also Karnitzan ) a deed of gift on the estate. He and his wife sold it in 1629 but returned to Magdalena Kunasch born Boryne Lhota.

The castle, built in the 18th century., Lived until his death Franz Josef Gerstner. He designed the railway line from Linz to Budweis.
