Mnichowo, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship
Mnichowo ( German United Mönsdorf ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The village forms a mayor's office ( sołectwo ) in the urban and rural community Reszel, powiat Kętrzyński.

Geography
Geographical location
The village is located in north-eastern Poland, approximately 35 kilometers south of the Polish border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast. One kilometer to the northeast is the town of Reszel, two kilometers west of the village Zawidy.
History
Today's Mnichowo was created in 1368 as Hoenborn. The name changed in the 18th century to Münchsdorf and from the 19th century United Mönsdorf. In January 1945, the Red Army occupied the area and as a result of the war came the village as Mnichowo to Poland. On January 1, 1955 Mnichowo seat of a Gromada with an area of 3,307 acres and 948 inhabitants. Two years later, the Gromada was dissolved again and the village part of the Gromada Reszel. After the dissolution of Gromadas Mnichowo seat of a Schulz Office was in the municipality ( gmina ) Reszel. To the mayor's office were among the villages of Biel ( Weissensee), Czarnowiec ( Black Mountain ), Grodzki Mlyn ( Castle Mill) and Mnichówko (small Mösndorf ).

1783 there were 36 residential buildings in the village, in 1820 there were 32 in 1820 belonged to the village even a Vorwerk with three buildings and 23 residents. Subsequently, the population development graphically.

By Mnichowo the voivodship road leads 593 ( droga wojewódzka 593). This leads westward to about 15 kilometers to the provincial road 57 To the east it meets the Province Road 590 which leads to Reszel. After Reszel also performs a north side street leading from Mnichowo out.
Mnichowo does not have its own connection to the rail network.
The geographically nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, located about 100 kilometers north on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is located about 180 kilometers west of Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
