Modlin (Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki)

Modlin is a district of the Polish town of Nowy community Dwór Mazowiecki.

The town is located north of Warsaw close to the mouth of the Vistula and Narew in was up to the annexation to Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki in 1961 a separate municipality.

Worth seeing are the after several battles in the 19th and 20th century still remaining buildings of the fortress of Modlin.

In 1939, the fortress was in the Battle of Modlin one of the last points, which capitulated to Poland after the German attack.

North of the village is located on the grounds of a former military airfield of the new civilian Modlin Warsaw airport, which is particularly served by low cost airlines such as Ryanair.
