Mohamed Koné

Mohamed Koné (born 28 February 1984 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian football player at the position of a striker. He plays for the KV Mechelen in the Jupiler Pro League.

Career

His career began in Thailand for Koné Mohamed at FC Nakhon Sawan, who was playing in the Thailand Provincial League. With 14 goals in the 2001 season, he helped with the title in the Provincial League win. After only one year, he moved to league rivals FC Nakhon Pathom. 2003, at the age of 19 years came to Kone Mohamed FC Krung Thai Bank. In his first year with the club, he could be champion in the Premier League. In both 2004 and 2005 he played with the Krung Thai Bank in the AFC Champions League. After two years with the Krung Thai Bank Mohamed moved in 2006 to Chonburi. With FC Chonburi he reached in the same year the final of the Singapore Cup and was followed a year later with this club champion. In the final of the Singapore Cup Mohamed, however, was closed because of a red card. In the fall of 2008 he returned from Vietnam back to Chonburi. Under his coach Zico, he was a regular player. Together with the team, he played in the 2009 AFC Cup. Since July 2009 he has next to the citizenship of the Ivory Coast and the Thai. At the end of the 2009 season Kone was loaned to Yangon United, Myanmar. There he met Robert Procureur, which in a dual role Yangon United and Muang Thong United is active. This could convince them for the 2010 season at Muang Thong United to sign Mohamed.
