Moidele Bickel

Moidele Bickel ( born 1937 in Munich ) is a German costume designer. Bickel, who works for theater and for the film industry, was awarded several times for their designs. In some films it is conducted under the pseudonym Bernadette Villard.

Life

Bickel began her career as a costume designer at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt am Main. 1970 moved to Berlin Bickel to there for 22 years to provide the productions Peter Stein with costumes. She worked with stone first on the stage at the Halle shore and from 1981 at the Schaubühne place. From the early 1970s Bickel was also repeatedly worked for film and television productions and also worked outside of Berlin to theaters in Europe. So she was responsible for the costume design of Don Giovanni at the Salzburg Festival in 1994, directed by Patrice Chéreau. With Chéreau Bickel worked ( Queen Margot ) also in the film version of the novel La Reine Margot. For the costumes of the period film Bickel in 1995 nominated for an Academy Award. In addition, she worked for example for different productions of Robert Wilson, among others, Death Destruction & Detroit I and Death Destruction & Detroit II and at the Expo 98 for the play The White Raven. For the season 2011/2012 Bickel designed, among other things, the costumes for the drama Marija by Isak Babel at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus.
