History

The company was founded in 1786 by John Molson Molson, it is the oldest brewery in North America. The first location was on the St. Lawrence River in the French-speaking city of Montreal.

Today, Molson is number 13 of the largest breweries in the world. In the years 2000 and 2002, the Molson Inc. took over the Brazilian companies Marca Bavaria and Kaiser. In 2005 occurred an equal merger with Coors, today the company is part of the new Molson Coors Brewing Company. The main product is the Canadian lager.

On the Concord Pacific Place, the Molson Indy Vancouver were held from 1990 to 2004 on the street circuit in the Champ Car series. In the Streets of Toronto took place from 1986 to 2006 Molson Indy Toronto, the (2006: Molson Grand Prix of Toronto ) instead.
