Monégasque euro coins

The Monegasque euro coins are the Monaco Euro coins in circulation of the common European currency, the euro.

Legal basis and scope of the embossing rights

Although Monaco is not a member of the European Union, was established in a bilateral monetary agreement that Monaco may mint their own coins in the amount of 1/500 of the French embossing quota. Similar agreements were also three other small European countries (San Marino, the Vatican City and Andorra) closed. This currency agreements were deemed necessary, as these countries were in a monetary union with Italy or France and Spain before the Euro introduction.
