Monika Kruszona

Monika Kruszona (* August 4, 1985 in Krefeld, Germany ) is a German water polo player. The left-hander first played at Bayer Uerdingen before moving to the 2002 /03 Series champions SV Blau-Weiss Bochum in the German water polo league. Multiple so last 2010/11 won the player of the Center scorer cannon, with a record number of 136 hits. From the new, starting this winter season (2011 /12), the native Uerdingerin returns to her home club Bayer.

Career

With the SV Blau-Weiss Bochum the left-hander won so far a total of nine times the German water polo championships (2003 to 2011) and eight times the German Water Polo Cup (2003 to 2006 and from 2008 to 2011 ).

Internationally

For the German women's water polo national team Kruszona took part in the Junior World Championship 2001 in Perth and at the Junior World Championship 2003 in Calgary, where it reached number five with their team. In Calgary, she was with teammate Barbara Bujka with 23 goals top scorer of the tournament. For the national team, it rose in 2001 at the age of 15 years for the first time in the water and has since been a fixture in the team. With Germany she performed at the World Championships 2003 in Barcelona and 2005 in Montréal and the water polo World Cup 2007 in Melbourne, Australia, where she finished in eleventh place with their team. Furthermore, she stood in the line-up of Germany to the 2001 European Championships in Budapest, 2003, Ljubljana, Belgrade, 2006 and 2008, in Málaga. After a break in 2009, this national Kruszona qualified in May 2010 with the German team again for the 2010 European Championships in Zagreb. At the tournament of Europe's Group 2 in the Italian Messina Kruszona was the leading scorer with 13 goals for the German team in June it failed with this in the qualification for the finals of the FINA World League.
