Monpoint Jeune

Monpoint Jeune was a Haitian politician and President of Haiti.

Biography

Monpoint Jeune completed after school education and a military career, during which he rose to become a general. As such, he helped in March 1878 a revolt against President Pierre Théoma Boisrond - Canal in the places lemonade quell La Tanneries and Saint- Raphaël.

After the loss of power by President François Denys Légitime he was on 23 August 1889 as Chairman of the Provisional Government appointed acting President of Haiti. On October 17, 1889 he was succeeded by then Agriculture Minister Florvil Hyppolite, who has just been elected president.
