Moschheim

Moschheim is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Wirges.

Geographical location

The municipality is located north of Montabaur on the can baker street.

In the north of the municipal territory, the Malberg, with 422 m above sea level rises. NN one of the highest elevations in the area.

History

Moschheim was first documented in 1362.

Religion

The vast majority of the population is Roman Catholic. In the village is a Catholic branch church of the parish of St. Boniface ( Wirges ), which belongs to the diocese of Limburg. The 150 evangelical Christians are looked after by the Evangelical Martin Luther Church community Wirges that belongs to the Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau.

The local council in Moschheim consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

  • In Moschheim the Westerwald Circle Waste Management Company ( WAB) is established. The company is a municipal self- operation of the Westerwald district and is responsible for waste management in the district. The fleet consists of 40 vehicles (as of 2010 ).

  • To the east of the site the B 255 runs the Montabaur and Rennerod connects.
  • The nearest motorway junction is Montabaur on the A 3 Cologne -Frankfurt am Main, about three kilometers away.
