Mosquitos (band)

Mosquitos is an American band from New York City. Band members are the Brazilian singer JuJu Stulbach, guitarist Chris Root and keyboardist Jon Marshall Smith. Their musical style is described as a mix of bossa nova and indie pop.

Band History

Root and Stulbach met in New York City and later took first tracks together in Ipanema, Brazil on. Root had to leave Brazil before its completion, but met shortly after Smith in New York City. In 2003 they reformed in the mosquitoes.

  • JuJu Stulbach sings in her songs in English and Brazilian Portuguese alternately at the same time.
  • The song Boombox was in the television series Nip / Tuck - Beauty has its price, The OC, MTV's The Real World and played Malcolm in the Middle ( Season 5, Episode 13, Lois ' sister).
  • Stulbach coverte the song Have You Ever Seen the Rain? by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
