Moss Icon was an existing 1986-1991 emocore experimental or post- hardcore band from Annapolis, Maryland, USA.

History

The band was founded in 1986 In January 1988, they recorded their first 7 " plate Hate in me self-directed Seven months later, the second plate: .. . Mahpuia Luta Also in 1988 they released their recorded by Les Lentz and Tony French LP Lyburnum Wits End Liberation Fly.

In addition to a side project with the name Breathing Walker, to which all members of Moss Icon, and three other musicians - Alexander Badertscher, Zak Fasciello, Tim Horner - cooperated, was released in 1991, in which dissolved the band, and the third 7 " the band with the Memorial names. Moreover, was also released as an LP split with the band Silver Bearing.

Ebullition Records released 1994, an album with all the songs from Memorial and the split - LP and some live recordings of the band.

2001, the band got together again to play some gigs - which prevented Mark Laurence was represented by Zak on drums Fusciello

The band had a leftist political claim and convicted about the activities of the U.S. government in Nicaragua and Guatemala against the local left-wing forces and showed solidarity with the indigenous population of America.

Style

The band is considered to be influential for the emocore genre, but also had influence on the nascent grunge.
